Travis Head attains best-ever ICC Test Rankings in latest update

Australia batter, Travis Head has recently gained a new spot in the Test batter rankings of ICC.

Moreover, he has also overtaken his teammates Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne to become No.2 in the Test charts.

Furthermore, his recent scores of 39 and 77 against England in the ongoing Ashes series have placed him nine points behind New Zealand’s Kane Williamson’s 883 rating points.

Previously, Head was ranked No.3 in the ICC rankings after his scintillating performance against India in the ICC World Test Championship the previous month.

In that game, he scored 163 runs which proved to be very decisive for Australia in the game.

Meanwhile, England has beaten Australia in the 3rd Ashes Test and has narrowed the gap to 2-1.

Batter Harry Brook has climbed up to 12th place after making 75 runs in the 3rd Test with his skipper Ben Stokes breaking into the top 20 for the first time since September.

Moreover, Zak Crawley has also jumped up to 48th place after hitting 33 and 44 in the first innings.

Additionally, in the Test bowler rankings, Stuart Broad and Mark Wood have made great progress.

While Broad has gained 6th place after getting five wickets in the 3rd Test, Mark Wood has reached 26th place with 591 rating points.

Meanwhile, Chris Woakes has returned to the Test rankings and is 36th after taking three wickets in both innings.

Afghanistan players also see a surge in ICC ODI rankings

Furthermore, in the recently concluded ODI series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan, many players have benefitted from the series.

Afghanistan won the series 2-1 after putting up a dominant show in the first two games.

Batters Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have grabbed 16th and 45th places respectively after putting up dominating performances.

Additionally, Player of the Series, Fazalhaq Farooqi has climbed up to 33rd place after getting 8 wickets in the series.

Rashid Khan has moved up to 4th place after moving up three places after the ODI series.

Shakib Al Hasan has once again broken through the top 10 bowlers in the ODI Rankings as well.

Additionally, in the ICC World Cup Qualifier, Netherlands’ Max O’Dowd has moved up to 56th place and USA’s Gajanand Singh has now risen up to 59th.

Even Saurabh Netravalkar’s position has moved to 18th place, Maheesh Theekshana has reached 19th place and UAE’s Aayan Afzal Khan has moved to 46th in the ODI rankings.
