Umesh Yadav touched Kohli’s records, surpassed Shastri’s

Indian batters failed in the first innings at Indore. The team went all out for just 109 runs. However, within that, Umesh Yadav entertained the fans. Well, it was not with the ball, but with the bat. In the end, India crossed 100 with his 13-ball 17 runs. Umesh touched Virat Kohli with the bat.

Umesh Yadav hit 2 sixes in the innings of 17 runs. He has hit 24 sixes in Tests so far. Kohli also has 24 sixes in Tests. Not only to touch Kohli, Umesh has surpassed his former coach Ravi Shastri. Shastri hit 22 sixes in the Test. Umesh has overtaken Shastri in Indore.

Umesh ranks 17th among Indian batsmen in the list of sixes in Tests. Virender Sehwag tops this list. He hit 91 sixes in the Test. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is in second place, hit 78 sixes.

India is slowly falling further behind in the third Test at Indore. After the failure of the team’s batsmen, the bowlers wasn’t performing upto to the expectations. Ravichandran Ashwin initially failed to utilize the pitch, but later grabbed 3 wickets later. Umesh Yadav, who has been terrific throughout on the Indian soil finally pocketed 100 test wickets in India. He took Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc and Todd Murphy’s wicket. While Australia was aiming towards taking a big lead in the first innings, the bowlers managed 6 wickets in the last 12 runs they gave. At the end, Australia managed to take a 88 runs lead.

However, the 3rd innings is pathetic as usual. India lost early wickets of Shubman Gill as well as the skipper Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli too left no sooner.
