In the match against Sunrises Hyderabad, Varun Chakravarthy defended 9 runs to win the match. He won the Man of the Match award for his performance in the death over. Varun bowled his first over only after the 10th over of the match. The former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh praises him for the confidence he had while defending the runs in the final over.
Harbhajan on Varun Chakravarty
“Varun Chakravarthy bowled tight lines all along the death overs against SRH. He changed his angle and showed confidence in the final over to defend nine runs. It was good captaincy from Nitish Rana as well for giving the ball to Varun,” Harbhajan told Star Sports.
Hyderabad started the chase of 172 runs with bit of struggle from the openers. They kept on losing the wickets after the powerplay. Their captain Aiden Markram and wicketkeeper Klaasen put up a partnership after the loss of wicket. However, they cannot chase the total as Varun bowled the final over very well.
On the same show, the former India batter Mohammad Kaif praised Rinku Singh and said
“Rinku Singh has been showing a lot of maturity with his performances. His footwork is very good, he looks confident every time he walks in the middle. He knows how to convert his form into good knocks and also knows when to shift gears. He keeps rotating the strike early on and later plays his shots. Rinku is capable of hitting big shots as well and this quality makes him a special player,”
