It was an all-round performance by India Women as they beat Pakistan Women by a huge margin of 107 runs.

India have started their World Cup campaign on the right track.

For India, their star performers with the bat were Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana.

Both of them powered India to 244/7 in 50 overs, also getting fifties in the process.

Smriti Mandhana too looked in fine form as she cracked her 21st half-century and crossed the 2500 runs mark in ODI cricket.

In the bowling department for India, Rajeshwari Gayakwad stood out with 4/31 while Rana and Goswami bagged 2 wickets apiece.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s spin bowlers pretty much tried to do a decent job for them with Nashra Sandhu, Anam Amin and off-spinner Nida Dar getting big wickets of India.

In the second innings though, Pakistan lost their openers early on with Gayakwad providing the breakthrough in the 11th over.

Sidra Ameen and skipper Bismah Maroof steadied Pakistan’s innings for some time.

But, Deepti Sharma got the better of the Pakistani skipper.

Daina Baig tried to restore the lost momentum by making a valiant 24 but it was all but lost for Pakistan and they were all out for 137.

Richa Ghosh was electric behind the stumps as she took 4 catches and also performed a stumping.

India will next play New Zealand on the 10th of March at Hamilton.
