Vihari and Khejroliya to join Madhya Pradesh for next domestic season

Ranji Trophy

Andhra Pradesh and India batter, Hanuma Vihari is all set to join Madhya Pradesh for the upcoming domestic season.

This is because he wants to reestablish himself in his Test career and try to get a place in the national squad.

But, he has still not received his NOC from his current state of Andhra Pradesh which will take time.

Moreover, Vihari has played 16 Tests for India wherein he has scored 839 runs in them.

Furthermore, he has also played some very good innings in Test cricket, like against the West Indies in the 2019 tour.

However, his most memorable innings was the one against Australia in Sydney during India’s 2020-21 tour wherein he teamed up with Ravichandran Ashwin to save and draw the third Test.

On the other hand, Madhya Pradesh already has many established names in its lineup such as Rajat Patidar, Venkatesh Iyer, and, Shubham Sharma.

Therefore, Vihari will find it hard to fight for a place in MP’s batting lineup for the upcoming domestic season.

But, Vihari is ready to face all the challenges and odds that are against him.

Previously, Vihari had a very bad year in domestic cricket as he scored only 490 runs in 14 games. But, his batting left-handed due to a broken right forearm was highly appreciated in the cricketing fraternity.

Kulwant Khejroliya to also play for Madhya Pradesh in this year’s domestic season

Meanwhile, another player has signed himself up to play for Madhya Pradesh in this year’s domestic season.

He is none other than pacer Kulwant Khejroliya who had a rather tough time with Delhi in the previous season.

Moreover, Khejroliya got to play only 14 first-class matches for Delhi which has left him quite frustrated.

But, when it comes to his overall career in first-class cricket, Khejroliya has some fantastic records as he has grabbed 61 wickets in just 29 games.

Therefore, to improve his red-ball game, he has decided to join Madhya Pradesh for the new domestic season.

Furthermore, Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association has named both Vihari and Khejroliya as probable and they will join the conditioning camp before the season starts.

But, the date for the same has yet to be finalized.
