Virat Kohli adds new record to his name after 1st ODI against Windies

Star India batter, Virat Kohli has earned a new record for himself after India defeated West Indies in the 1st ODI.

Usually, Kohli comes in at No.3 after the 1st wicket falls. But, this wasn’t the case yesterday.

Additionally, Kohli is known for his destructive batting all over the world and has smashed many runs.

However, he didn’t come out to bat throughout the game and this is a first for Kohli.

Therefore, this was one of the most talked about moments of the game as well.

Even though India were five down in the game, Kohli still didn’t come out to bat. Previously, Kohli has batted at No.7 but yesterday, he was positioned at No.8.

Meanwhile, India managed to achieve the target of 115 runs with ease and also started the white-ball leg of this series well.

India defeats West Indies by five wickets in 1st ODI

Talking about the game, then India won the toss and decided to bowl first and they did a tidy job with the ball.

The visitors completely dismantled the hosts for just 114 runs in the first innings. Skipper Shai Hope was the highest run-getter for his side.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja got the better of the Windies batters.

Both the spinners together picked seven wickets between them with Kuldeep picking four and Jadeja picking three.

On the other hand, Hardik Pandya, Shardul Thakur, and Mukesh Kumar picked one-one wicket each.

All India needed was 115 runs to win the first game and they did so with ease despite losing five wickets in the process.

In the end, India scored 118 runs and will now be very keen to repeat their performance for the rest of this series.

Furthermore, they will also look to win the ODI series against the West Indies as well.
