Virat Kohli angry with Zakir Hasan’s time-wasting tactics on Day 2

During the second day of the 2nd Test between India and Bangladesh, batter Zakir Hasan did some time-wasting tactics.

It has been seen multiple times that batters use brainy tactics in order to waste time so that the day’s play finishes soon.

It is because batters don’t want to bat during the waning hours of the Test match and instead try to divert others’ attention by doing so.

This is exactly what happened on Day 2 when Ravichandran Ashwin was trying to give India a breakthrough and Hasan started wasting time.

Hasan started tying his shoelaces when he was on the non-striker’s end and his behavior didn’t go unnoticed.

Standing at first slip, Kohli gave Hasan a piece of his mind.

Kohli’s stern comment to Zakir Hasan during Day 2

On the stump mic, Kohli was heard saying,

Zakir, kapda nikal do kapda.

Before Zakir, opener Najmul Hasan Shanto also tried to do something similar during the Test match.

He asked for a change of bat and after changing it multiple times, came back with the bat he was batting with.

Even KL Rahul brought the issue to the notice of the on-field umpires as well.

But, on Day 2 using their brainy tactics, Bangladesh’s openers managed to survive the scare and remained unscathed.

Bangladesh had a lead of 91 runs and three wickets to spare in the 2nd Test. Litton Das scored a fifty in the match and was batting alongside Taskin Ahmed.

They would have loved to add more to their lead but they have not been able to give India a big target to chase.

India is batting currently and has a target of 145 runs. So, far India has managed to make 45 runs and lost 4 wickets in the process.

The visitors will look to clean-sweep Bangladesh and improve their chances for the ICC World Test Championship.
