Virat Kohli found guilty for breaching IPL Code of Conduct

BCCI authorities fined Virat Kohli 10% of his match. fees after he was found guilty of In the 24th match of IPL 2023, Virat Kohli breached the IPL’s Code of Conduct while playing against the Chennai Super Kings at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. Virat Kohli “admitted to the Level 1 offence”. BCCI also said, that the RCB stalwart has accepted the sanction and and any formal hearing is unnecessary.

In a press release, BCCI said,

“Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter Virat Kohli has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

“Kohli admitted to the Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding.”

The release however have not provided any detailed information about the incident which brought laws into the scene. But it was an aggressive celebration that supported Virat Kohli breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. Virat Kohli was seen celebrating ruthlessly after RCB took Shivam Dube’s wicket.

It was in 17th over when Wayne Parnell, the RCB left arm pacer bowled a full delivery to CSK’s Shivam Dube. The ball hit Dube’s pads and got his bat’s toe-end. Dube who was on cloud nine throughout, failed to clear the boundary as Siraj got his catch.

Dube’s wicket was indeed a crucial one for RCB, and the player celebrated quite naturally. However Kohli came running towards Siraj and was seen spitting out trash words while celebrating.

Kohli, hadn’t had a great day with the bat as well. He just managed to score just 6. He got out as the ball kissed the inside edge of his bad and toppled the bails of the stumps. It was the first over and CSK’s Aakash Singh bagged a heavy weight wicket.

Mahipal Lomror departed soon after Kohli But Faf du Plessis played well will Glenn Maxwell on the other side. There was hardly a corner of the Chinnaswamy Stadium where Faf and Maxwell’s balls haven’t visited. But as those names departed, RCB’s dream of sealing the match gradually shattered into ashes.
