India’s star batsman, Virat Kohli recently took to his social media accounts on Twitter and Instagram to share a special memory.
In the post, he shared a pic of his T20 World Cup 2022 knock against Pakistan in India’s opener of the tournament.
Kohli remained not out with a score of 82 from 53 balls and guided India home to a wonderful victory against the Men in Green.
Writes Kohli,
October 23rd 2022 will always be special in my heart. Never felt energy like that in a cricket game before. What a blessed evening that was.
Pakistan had set a total of 160 on the board for India to chase.
In less than 10 overs, India were restricted to 31/4 and it looked like they would lose the game.
But, it was some great heroics from Virat Kohli who along with Hardik Pandya stitched a great 113-run partnership for the fifth wicket.
Kohli also hit two fabulous sixes off Haris Rauf’s deliveries that fans have now come to call as iconic.
India then took full advantage of Mohammad Nawaz’s extras to clinch a great victory in the final over.
The run for the Men in Blue came to an end in the semi-final when they were outclassed by England.
However, Virat has been a great player for India in this edition of the T20 World Cup.
He topped the batting charts with 296 runs in six matches with an average of 98.66 and four half-centuries.
Additionally, he has also broken many records in the tournament and has now become the highest run scorer.
He ended the tournament with a total of 1,141 runs from 25 matches along with 14 half-centuries.
