Virender Sehwag expressed his belief that the Indian cricket team, led by Virat Kohli, will lift the World Cup trophy on November 19 in Ahmedabad. Drawing a parallel to the 2011 World Cup, where the players were determined to win in honor of Sachin Tendulkar, Sehwag expects the same motivation for Kohli. He emphasized that Kohli deserves a triumphant end to his illustrious career, with a World Cup victory serving as the perfect culmination. Sehwag further highlighted Kohli’s ability to perform under pressure and expressed confidence in his leadership if India reaches the finals of the tournament.

“We played that World Cup for Tendulkar. If we won the World Cup, it would have been a great exit for Sachin paaji. Virat Kohli is the same now. Everybody will look to win the World Cup for him. He always gives more than 100 percent,”

Sehwag said.

“I think Virat Kohli is also looking to this World Cup. 100,000 people will watch you at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Virat knows how the pitches will behave. I am sure he will score a lot of runs and he will do his best to win the World Cup for India,”

Sehwag further added.

Virat Kohli’s Resurgence Sparks Hopes for India’s World Cup Success

Virat Kohli has successfully regained his form after facing a challenging period in international cricket. He displayed outstanding performance in the recent editions of the Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup, and he aims to maintain the same level of play in the upcoming ODI tournament. Additionally, Kohli’s exceptional performance in the Indian Premier League further solidified his position. If he continues this remarkable form, India stands a good chance of securing their third ODI World Cup victory.

Meanwhile, the team led by Rohit Sharma will embark on their journey towards the upcoming ODI World Cup through a three-match ODI series against West Indies. However, the team faces concerns due to several players being injured. Despite these challenges, the team remains hopeful and determined to achieve success in the tournament.
