Virender Sehwag wants Rishabh Pant to play 100 Tests for India

Rishabh Pant

Former India swashbuckling opener, Virender Sehwag has given his opinions on wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant.

Sehwag wants Pant to play 100 or more Test matches for India so that he can be remembered by generations in the future.

So far only 11 players have been able to play 100 Test matches for India.

If Pant reaches this record, he will become the 12th Indian player to do so.

If we take a look at Pant’s stats in Tests, he has scored 1920 runs in 30 Tests and has a high score of 159*.

He has also done 11 stumpings in Tests so far.

Sehwag knows that Pant will be able to achieve this record as he is just 24 years old at present.

The former India player was also a great player in Tests for the national side.

Sehwag amassed 8586 runs in 104 Tests for India, having an average of 49.34 and a strike rate of 80.

When asked if he always planned to hit the first ball of the match for a six, Sehwag denied this.

He said that he hit the ball for a boundary because he thought that it may be a loosener or a warm-up ball for him.
