India Women batter Vellaswamy Vanitha has called it quits from all forms of international cricket for India.

The 31-year-old represented India in 6 ODIs and 16 T20Is, her last appearance for India came in November 2016.

She wrote out a social media post in which she reminisced about her time right from childhood to the present time. She told that how as a young girl she was very fond of cricket and her passion for the game still continues.

But she wants to direct this passion in other directions.

She thanked everyone who were there to support her throughout her cricketing journey and also thanked Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj for their constant love and support.

Vanitha played for Karnataka and Bengal in domestic cricket and thanked both the cricket organizations as well for supporting her.

She now wants to groom young talents in women’s cricket and is looking forward to becoming a coach for any team.

She said that it would be challenging but at least she will remain connected to the sport and would help future women cricketers to play for the national side.
