Washington Sundar, the Chennai spinner, had just come back into the national side after a long tryst with injuries.

But recently, he suffered a hamstring injury while fielding in the 3rd ODI against West Indies and left the Indian camp to join the National Cricket Academy.

The BCCI also confirmed Sundar’s absence from the team for the upcoming T20I series in a statement.

He will remain at the NCA for some weeks, according to reports.

Previously, KL Rahul and Axar Patel had left the Indian squad to join the NCA.

India have reached Kolkata and even did a net session in the evening at the Eden Gardens.

KL Rahul and Axar Patel are undergoing rehab at the NCA.

Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Hooda and Ruturaj Gaikwad have replaced these players.

India will be playing three T20Is against West Indies starting February 16.

Sundar also went to the Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 8.75 crores at the recently concluded IPL Mega Auction.
