Pakistan’s legendary pacer Wasim Akram has made his prediction as to who should be playing in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.

He believes that India, Australia and Pakistan should qualify for the knockout stages of the marquee event and has deemed South Africa as the dark horse.

India is the top-ranked team in T20Is and have broken Pakistan’s record of most T20I wins in a calendar year.

Additionally, they have also equalled Australia’s record of most wins in international cricket in a calendar year after they won the final ODI against South Africa 2 days ago.

While speaking in Dubai, Akram said,

For the semifinals, what I would like to see is Australia, India and Pakistan. But South Africa could be a dark horse.

Currently, Australia is at home battling England in a T20I series.

The hosts have already lost the series 2-0 but will look to bounce back in the T20 World Cup.

On the other hand, Pakistan is involved in a tri-nation series with New Zealand and Bangladesh and have already reached the finals.

Pakistan lost to England at home by a narrow margin of 3-4 in the seven-match T20I series.

India and Pakistan are going to lock horns on the 23rd of October at MCG while Australia will be up against New Zealand on the 22nd of October at SCG.
