Wasim Jaffer highly impressed with Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav

India’s chinaman bowler, Kuldeep Yadav has shown some great performances in the recent series.

Against Sri Lanka and now New Zealand, Kuldeep has been in excellent form and has taken wickets in crucial instances.

The wrist spinner has got this chance after a very long time and is making full use of the given opportunities.

For a few years since the 2019 World Cup, Kuldeep was completely out of favor on the Indian side.

But, now with the absence of Axar Patel, he has been brought in by the team and he has just delivered from one game to the next.

Now, former India cricketer, Wasim Jaffer has showered praises on Kuldeep and says that he has been excellent.

During IPL 2022, Kuldeep bowled brilliantly for his new team, Delhi Capitals. Now, Jaffer feels that Kuldeep will play a key role in T20Is for India.

It happens with wrist spinners. When their form is good, when the ball comes out of their hands well, they take wickets. He has proved in the last two series by taking big wickets and giving breakthroughs at critical stages. So, he has that potential. He wasn’t given the chance earlier. Since Axar Patel isn’t there, the management has given him a consistent run. He plays a match, gets dropped, returns, performs, and gets axed again. So, it’s not easy for any player.

Jaffer wants Kuldeep to be included in the Test series against Australia

With the form Kuldeep is in, he should definitely be in the squad against Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Jaffer says if Kuldeep continues performing like this, then India will surely consider him against Australia.

But he has shown remarkable consistency and I won’t be surprised if he does well in this series. I expect him to get a chance against Australia as well.

Meanwhile, Jaffer has also talked about India’s young pace attack that is going to play a key role in the T20Is against New Zealand.

He says that while the pace attack has been brilliant against Sri Lanka, Arshdeep Singh looked out of form.

But, Jaffer believes that Arshdeep will make a great comeback against New Zealand.

All three bowlers played in the last T20I series and did well. Arshdeep Singh has been slightly out of form, but I am sure that the way he bowls, he will bounce back in this series. If he is not there, we might get an inexperienced bowling unit, given both Mavi and Malik haven’t played a lot of games.
