“The way he batted in both innings and absorbed the pressure India were under pressure in both innings when he walked out to bat. India were chasing a big score in the first innings and it was the same story in the second innings. He has shown that he can absorb that pressure,” Wasim Jaffer told Sportskeeda.
He further added that
“When Ajinkya Rahane plays attacking and positive cricket, he is a different player. I just hope he plays and he stays consistent from here on,” Wasim Jaffer added.
Talking about the match, India won the toss and decided to bowl first. It was because of the overcast condition of that time. However, later the conditions changed immediately, and was good to bat on. The Aussies especially Steven Smith and Travis Head capitalized it and remained not out for the whole day. The next day Aussies were bundled out after the big struglle of Indian bowlers. They scored a massive score of 469 in first innings.
The openers of the Indian team got out quickly after the small positive knocks they played. Shubman Gill and Pujara got out similarly by leaving the ball which came inside.
