Yusuf Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, believes that Adil Rashid, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s new signing, will be a critical player in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). During the player auction, SRH acquired Rashid for INR 2 crore. The England cricketer played a significant part in the team’s ICC T20 World Cup triumph last year, captained by Jos Buttler.
Pathan, a former SRH player, praised Rashid’s skills as an excellent bowler who can bowl with the new ball as well as in the middle and death overs. He also stated that Rashid will have a new role to play for the 2016 champions in the IPL 2023.

“Adil Rashid, the quality of spin bowling that he brings to the table. He has been excellent for England also and he is a wonderful wicket-taking bowler. Plus, he can bowl with the new ball too. He can bowl in the middle overs and in the death overs too! We will see him play a new role now”,
Pathan said.
SRH’s poor performance in the previous IPL season, finishing third from the bottom, has led them to make significant changes to their squad. They are determined to win their second IPL title. One of the significant changes is the appointment of Aiden Markram as their new captain.
In addition to Markram, SRH has made some interesting additions to their squad, such as signing England’s Harry Brook and India’s Mayank Agarwal. Brook was bought for a whopping INR 13.25 crores, while Agarwal was roped in for ₹8.25 crores.
The team will begin their IPL 2023 campaign against Rajasthan Royals (RR), last year’s runner-up, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on April 2. SRH is hoping for a fresh start and aims to start the season on a high note. The team is excited about the prospects of their new acquisitions and believes that they have the right combination to win the IPL title this year.
