Team India’s former swashbuckling batter Yuvraj Singh has given his opinion on Rishabh Pant.

Yuvraj Singh opines that Pant be made the next captain of the Indian Test side.

He feels that the youngster has all the qualities of being a great leader and will do exceptionally well in Tests.

Rishabh Pant is currently leading the Delhi Capitals in the ongoing IPL 2022.

Under Pant’s captaincy, Delhi Capitals reached the playoffs of the tournament 2 times.

Unfortunately, they couldn’t continue their dominant streak in the playoffs as they crashed in the second qualifier.

In this season of the IPL, Delhi Capitals have only 3 wins and 4 losses so far and have had a rather up-and-down first half.

They will now look to turn things around in the second half of the season.

Yuvraj Singh in an interview with Sports18 said that youngsters must be honed and trained properly.

He also said that every youngster will not produce results instantly for a period of six months to a year.

He gave the example of MS Dhoni during the interview.

Yuvraj Singh also mentioned that wicketkeepers become great captains as they have the best view of the game on the ground and they are great thinkers as well.

Rishabh Pant has a great batting average in Tests compared to limited-overs cricket.

He has so far played 30 Tests for India where he has amassed 1920 runs at an average of 40.9 including 4 tons and 9 half-centuries.
