Aakash Chopra expresses his concern on Rohit’s form in IPL

Mahela Jayawardene - Rohit Sharma - Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians became the first team in the Indian Premier League to chase 200 plus in consecutive matches. Even without the support of their skipper, they chased 200 easily in the last two matches. Rohit Sharma has not contributed much in this IPL according to his standard. Aakash Chopra expresses his concern about Rohit’s form in this IPL.

Aakash Chopra said that

“Rohit Sharma got out. I am still thinking if he is selling himself too short. I think he is. This shot is unbecoming of him – why? He was trying to jump out and hit in the first over and got out,” Chopra stated in the AakashVani show on JioCinema.

Aakash Chopra further added that

He says that Mumbai’s bowlers are yet to fire properly in this IPL. Without their best fast bowler Bumrah and the return of Jofra Archer from injury, he has been leaking runs more than usual form. It may take some time for Jofra to come back to rhythm.

“Then Suryakumar Yadav came with Ishan Kishan. Suryakumar Yadav was the Impact Player. I was a little surprised because only three overseas players were in their XI. Jason Behrendorff was available but they didn’t play him. Mumbai played with only three overseas even though their bowling has been very pedestrian,” said Aakash Chopra

After beating Punjab Kings at their home ground Mohali, Mumbai Indians went to number six in the points table. Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings on a Saturday afternoon in the Chennai’s gound Chepauk
