Afghanistan to play in India after the World Test Championship Final

Afghanistan is set to tour India for three match One Day Internationals series. The series is most likely to start on June 16. These matches will take place after the World Test Championship Final. India will clash with the Aussies in the final. However, the venue was changed from the home of Cricket Lords to The Oval by the ICC.

Jay Shah on Afghanistan coming to India ahead of World Cup said that

“The Media Rights tender will be released as per schedule this year (June-July). And will depend on the Afghanistan tour, but more likely the process will start from the Australia series in September,”. Shah said during a select-media interaction in Mumbai by Sportstar.

Jay Shah further added that

“The Board will speak to all stakeholders concerned and will come up with an interim decision (for broadcaster),” he added.

The Afghanistan three match series is to give the Indian players a lot more game time for the World Cup 2023. The World Cup is most likely to begin on Oct 5. The first match of the World will be playing in Ahmedabad. India and Pakistan will play in Chennai as the crowd of Chennai is a knowledgeable one in India. Pakistan will play all their matches in Chennai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad to avoid many incidents. Mumbai’s Wankhede might host one of the semi final in this year’s Worlds Cup.

Most of the stadiums hosting the World Cup 2023 are going to get alter by the BCCI. BCCI is going to spend more than 500 crores on this work. Afghanistan qualified for the World Cup for the third time.
