Ambati Rayudu: I have always loved playing for CSK

Due to unfavorable weather conditions on Sunday, the IPL final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) was rescheduled to the reserve day, Monday. Remarkably, this marks GT’s second consecutive appearance in the final of the prestigious league. On Sunday, CSK’s key batsman, Ambati Rayadu, announced his retirement from the IPL, confirming that the title clash against Gujarat would be his final match. In a video shared by CSK’s official Twitter handle, Rayadu reflected on his cricketing journey, expressing his love for the game and his dedication to playing for the four-time champions.

“You love this game, especially playing for CSK. I have always loved playing for CSK,” expressed Rayadu, highlighting his affection and loyalty towards the team throughout his career.

Despite the weather delay, the focus shifted to Rayadu’s retirement announcement, as he shared his heartfelt sentiments and gratitude towards his cricketing journey and the opportunity to represent CSK.

Reflecting on his cricketing journey, which began three decades ago. Rayudu emphasized the significance of the learning and experiences gained throughout the years. He expressed his love for the game and the thrill of facing pressure, which fuels his motivation. Additionally, Rayudu acknowledged the unwavering support of his family. Highlighting the sacrifices made by his parents to enable his participation in cricket.

“My family support system has been really good, especially my parents. They have sacrificed a lot to have me play this sport. After that Vidhya (his wife) came into my life and the support system has always been the backbone. This is where I found my source of strength,”

Rayudu said.

Furthermore, expressing his admiration, Rayudu spoke highly of Sachin Tendulkar’s batting prowess, describing it as a delightful experience and a source of enjoyment for him.
