Anrich Nortje is unlikely to play 3rd ODI due to injury in his back.

The fast bowler will go through the scans in his lower back in Johannesburg on Monday, September 11. The South Africa Cricket Board has given the update that the pacer won’t be part of the third One Day Internationals. There is no confirmation regarding his participation in the remaining matches of the series. In the second match, Anrich Nortje left the field after bowling five overs  in Bloemfontein.

The South African team management may hope that the injury is not big as the World Cup is less than a month away. The series is led 2-0 by the Australians in South Africa against the hosts. The Australian team is missing the service of their star players. The star players are Steven Smith, Pat Cummins, Mitchel Starc, and Glenn Maxwell. However, the missing of star players did not affect the performance of the Australian team. Marnus came in as a concussion substitute and did well in the first match of the series.

The South African team hopes that Anrich Nortje return to the field as soon as possible. South Africa starts their World Cup on October 8 against Sri Lanka.
