Irfan Pathan heaped praise on Cameron Green for his impressive performances in the IPL so far. The former India cricketer hailed the Australian as the next superstar in world cricket. Meanwhile, Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, grabbed his maiden IPL wicket, prompting Sunil Gavaskar to compare his temperament to that of his father’s. Gavaskar commended the young left-arm fast bowler for his thinking and strategy on the field.

Mumbai Indians sent a strong message to the rest of the IPL teams with a 14-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their latest encounter. The defending champions have now won three games on the trot, with their youngsters playing a significant role in the victories. Former Australia cricketer Aaron Finch expressed his delight over the young guns stepping up in the absence of big stars such as Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer.

Gavaskar said:

“Everybody talks about the amazing talent Sachin Tendulkar had at the start of his career. But it was his temperament that was absolutely amazing, and Arjun seems to have inherited that. He seems to be a shrewd thinker as well. It’s always a good sign when a youngster is bowling the final over for the team and delivering.”
