Eoin Morgan on missing out The Ashes

“I would have given my left arm to play in the Ashes. I went on the 2010/11 tour as the spare batter, but we had such a strong batting lineup.  Every time I had an opportunity against the Aussies, particularly in 50-over cricket. I would go ‘well, this is the closest I’m getting to playing an Ashes against these guys. If that is where I want to be, then I need to do well here to start with,” Eoin Morgan told The Mirror.

He has played for 16 tests for the England team. Also has scored 700 runs in those 16 test matches. The World Cup winning captain Eoin Morgan has two centuries in the test format.

“I’ve been really impressed with the way England have been playing, but this Australian team is different with a great bowling attack and quality batters. It’s going to be an incredible contest. The first Test is massively important. I can see every Test going down to the wire, with Australia just winning every game. I’m sure people want me to say 5-0, so I will not disappoint them,” Glenn McGrath told the BBC.

The former England captain is likely to be part of the commentary box for the whole Ashes this summer. A fun fact is that the Australian test is yet to win a series in England for many times.
