Faf du Plessis is in a different league altogether: Aakash Chopra

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Faf du Plessis is the captain of the Bangalore franchise in the Indian Premier League for the past two seasons. He with Virat Kohli and Maxwell is giving a lot of runs for their team. In the ten matches he has played so far has scored more than 500 runs in this IPL. In the match against Mumbai Indians, he completed 1000 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore. However, they failed to defend the target of 200 in the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Mumbai’s youngster Nehal finished things off in style with the partnership of Surya Kumar Yadav.

Aakash Chopra on Faf Du Plessis

“Who was the most valuable player? The bowlers do well in any case when it is a low-scoring match. Naveen-ul-Haq was absolutely outstanding. He picked up three wickets. Ravi Bishnoi and Amit Mishra also picked up two wickets apiece. The rest of the spinners also picked up wickets,”

Aakash Chopra further added that

“Karn Sharma and Josh Hazlewood were also there from RCB. So overall the bowlers were on top. So my most valuable player is Faf du Plessis. This year’s Faf du Plessis is in a different league altogether – a league of his own,” the 45-year-old added.

Faf is the orange cap holder in this Indian Premier League for a long time from starting. After the loss against Mumbai, the chance of Royal Challengers Bangalore getting into playoffs has become 22 percent. To qualify for the playoffs, they must win all their three matches and wait for the other team’s result.
