Royal Challengers Bangalore have finally decided upon their captain and he is Faf Du Plessis.

The official announcement will take place on March 12 as on that day RCB will be celebrating its 14 years as a franchise in the IPL.

The announcement was due to take place yesterday, but RCB decided to keep it during the franchise’s 14-year celebration.

The franchise will celebrate its 14 years at Museum Cross Road in Church Street on March 12.

There will be a press conference for the same and Du Plessis will take charge of the RCB this season.

Glenn Maxwell was the first choice as skipper but his non-availability have forced RCB to go ahead with Faf.

Faf has a huge experience in captaincy and has done so for South Africa in all formats, including a World Cup.

He has previously played for the Chennai Super Kings as an opener and will also find his place in RCB’s playing XI as an opener and captain.
