Hardik Pandya fined for Code of Conduct violation in PBKS vs GT

Hardik Pandya - Mohammed Shami - Gujarat Titans

Several players in the ongoing IPL 2023 have violated the code of conduct that ensures fair play in the tournament. Recently, the captain of the Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya, was found guilty of failing to maintain the scheduled over rate during his team’s bowling innings in a match against the Punjab Kings at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. This makes Hardik the third player after Faf du Plessis and Sanju Samson to be penalized for over-rate offence in this edition of the IPL.

Although the Gujarat Titans had restricted the Punjab Kings to a small total, they were caught off guard when the game turned out to be a close one. Pandya has promised to analyze the reasons for this in his team meeting. In the match, two players demonstrated their batting and bowling abilities while the Gujarat Titans continued to dominate in their second season.

Gill scores another impressive fifty as Gujarat Titans win again

Shubman Gill’s superb knock helped Gujarat Titans win their IPL match against Punjab Kings. Gill scored his second fifty of the season. He hit seven fours and one six en route to his 67 off 49 balls. His innings was particularly notable for the cover drive he used to complete his fifty. Gujarat Titans will now take on Rajasthan Royals at home on April 16.

In another noteworthy performance, Mohit Sharma made a successful return to the IPL. The veteran Indian pacer bowled exceptionally well and picked up two wickets. He got the better off Jitesh Sharma and Sam Curran, for just 18 runs in his four-over spell. His economy rate of 4.50 runs per over was the best among all the bowlers in the match. As a result, Punjab Kings could only manage to post 153/8 on the board. Sharma was awarded the Play of the Match for his outstanding bowling.
