“That was the whole plan for this tour as well. We might be coming here to play the World Cup. Some players might get a chance to play here. By the time we come here next time, we’ll be prepared,” says a confident Indian stand- in Captain Hardik Pandya before the first match, as quoted by India Today.
He further added that
“I believe in keeping things simple and focusing on improvement. Losses and failures are part of the journey, and I’m okay with that. It’s about pushing ourselves,” Hardik Pandya added.
The stand-in captain explains that he wants the youngsters to be ready for the International stage. He even hinted that winning is secondary to them as a team. As his main focus is on the new approach for the team and winning the T20I World Cup. The T20I World Cup is to start in the month of June 2024 in the West Indies and the USA.
Indian Captain Rohit Sharma in an event in the USA said that He will be returning back to the USA for the World Cup.
