Ishan Kishan can open as well if needed says former Indian Cricketer Harbhajan Singh. The former Offie backs Kishan to be the wicketkeeper for the Indian Team in the World Test Championship Final. He also said he does not have too much confidence in KS Bharat’s batting ablity. Bharat has played four Test matches only and managed to score 101 runs only. On the other hand, Kishan as well is yet to make his debut for India in the longer formats.
Harbhajan Singh on Ishan Kishan
“Why Ishan Kishan should be considered ahead of Bharat? I think this will add more strength to batting as Kishan can tackle the new ball much better than Bharat. He is an opener too and is in good form. So if the second new ball is introduced after 80 overs and Kishan walks out to bat he can play as an opener.”
Harbhajan Singh further added on the left hander that
“Rishabh Pant is an explosive batter and Ishan Kishan also has the same quality. Although Bharat is superb behind the wickets, I don’t have much confidence in Bharat’s batting,” Harbhajan said on his YouTube channel.
In the Australian side, Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the big final. Michael Neser will be replacing him in the Aussie team. Indian team members with Ishan Kishan travel to The Oval on Monday after their 3 day camp in Arundel. India can end the 10-year ICC trophy drought by winning this match against Australia. This Indian team has the capacity to do it.
