Delhi Capitals defended a small total against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, May 2. After batting first Delhi managed to score only 130 runs. However, Delhi’s bowlers stood up to defend the total. Their fast bowler Ishant Sharma defended 12 runs in the final over of the match. Gujarat Titans needed 12 runs in the last match to win the match. But they were able to score only 6 runs in that over.
Ishant Sharma said that
“I played enough cricket with Tewatia, so was just having fun with him. I knew I had to double-bluff him; otherwise, we know what he can do with the bat.” Ishant Sharma was quoted as saying by India Today.
He further added that
“I keep practising in the nets. We practise bowling we the new ball, but at the same time we do practise bowling with wide yorkers, and today the hard work paid off; I just backed myself and bowled wide yorkers. When you are preparing yourself in the nets, we plan to certain batsmen as to what to bowl, and it is all about executing it every single time, back yourself and believing in yourself,” said Ishant Sharma
In the four matches he played so far in the tournament, Ishant took six wickets. Everyone expected Gujarat Titans to win the match as they are the table toppers of this season. But, the quality of the Indian Premier League is that any team can other team on their day.
