Jamie Siddons joined the Bangladesh team as batting consultant in 2021. After Ashwell Prince resigned, he was appointed as Shakib’s batting coach by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Siddons resigned as the batting coach of the national team before the away series against Ireland. From now on he will work on developing future cricketers.

“I feel more comfortable working with the new generation of cricketers.”
Shakib’s recently resigned batting coach Jamie Siddons wrote on social media,
“After a short break, I have returned to Dhaka. I will no longer work with the national team of Bangladesh. I feel that I can help the Bangladesh Cricket Board the most if I can work on developing the next generation of cricketers. For those who are still outside the team, I aim to improve every day. My goal is to ensure that they can represent the country in the future. I have taken this decision after discussing with BCB.”
Assistant coach Nick Pothus’ responsibilities may increase in this situation. He may have to handle the responsibility of batting coach. He can handle the batting side of Shakibs with the head coach Chandika Hathurusingha.
A few days ago, Bangladesh won the Test and ODI series against Ireland at home. Shakib is confident of winning against the Irish in England. Siddons’ sudden resignation could spell trouble for Bangladesh’s batsmen on foreign soil.
