Najmul Hossain Shanto’s injury
The upcoming star batsman of the Bangladesh team Hossain Shanto is out of the Asia Cup 2023. It is due to his hamstring injury. The experienced batsman Litton Das comes into the squad for him. Bangladesh team lost the first match of the Asia Cup against Sri Lanka. However, they made a roaring comeback in the match against Afghanistan in Lahore. The key players for Bangladesh in the Afghanistan match were Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Shanto and Mehidy both scored a century in a strike rate of nearly 100. The centuries made Bangladesh to score more than 300 runs. This victory made them qualify for the Super 4 in the Asia Cup. In the bowling, all the bowlers did well and won the match by 89 runs.
They even made this qualification with the injuries of Mustafizur Rahman, Litton Das, and their captain and opener Tamim. The challenge for the Bangladesh team in the Super 4 matches will be missing key players like Najmul Hossain Shanto and Tamim.
