Jason Behrendorff says that their captain needs a couple of good shots

Mahela Jayawardene - Rohit Sharma - Mumbai Indians

Jason Behrendorff in the post match presentation came forward to defend their skipper’s lack of runs in this IPL. He also added that their captain Rohit Sharma is been hitting very cleanly and well in the nets. Rohit Sharma scored only 191 runs in eleven matches so far in the tournament. His form is important in the later part of the tournament and also in the World Test Championship Final. In the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore Rohit came to open the batting with Ishan Kishan. However, he could not make any impact on his side. He scored only seven runs before getting out to Wanindu Hasaranga.

Jason Behrendorff said that

“I love the intent Rohit came out with; he sort of stepped down the wicket and took the bowlers on, which was really good to see. He is hitting the ball really well in the nets, but it has not translated well at the moment out in the middle. But, we know how good Rohit is; he is an absolute class player, and he might just need a couple of good shots to bounce back to really good form,” Jason Behrendorff said in the post-match press conference.

After winning the toss Rohit decided to bowl first in the 54th match of IPL. Virat Kohli got out early trying to hit Jason Behrendorff down the ground. And Faf and Maxwell added a hundred-run partnership in the innings. At the end of batting, RCB scored only 199. Mumbai Indians chased the target very easily before the 17 over of the match
