Kapil Dev reacts to hectic World Cup 2023 schedule for India

Kapil Dev said that India is playing 11 matches and the amount of travelling they have to do.

“India is playing 11 matches and the amount of travelling they have to do…Who made that fixture? You are going to Dharmashala, then to Bengaluru, to Kolkata… playing in nine different places,” Kapil Dev told The Week.

He further added that India has done well but has to cross the last line.

“We are still playing well…we are reaching the finals, the semifinals,” the former cricketer Kapil Dev added.

The Indian team starts the biggest cricketing event on October 8 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The tournament starts in October when the last World Cup finalist meet in Narendra Modi Stadium. England and New Zealand kickstart the tournament in Ahmedabad. Ahead of World Cup, India will play Asia Cup starting on August 30 in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. In Asia Cup, India plays their arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in Sri Lanka. After the Asia Cup, India is set to play three One Day Internationals against the Australian Team.

Former Indian Captain Kapil Dev feels that the Indian team might feel hectic. As they will play nine league matches at nine different locations. He wants BCCI to arrange all the basic necessary such as Charted Flights and other arrangements for the team.
