Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player Kedar Jadhav has claimed that skipper MS Dhoni will retire from the IPL after this season. Dhoni, who recently led CSK in his 200th game as skipper against Rajasthan Royals, has not yet confirmed any such news. Despite that, Jadhav is sure of the veteran wicketkeeper-batsman’s retirement. At the age of 41, Dhoni has played 238 matches in the IPL so far, raising doubts about his future in the league.

“I am telling you this with 2,000 per cent certainty that this will be MS Dhoni’s final season as a player in IPL. Dhoni will turn 42 this July. Although still fit, Dhoni is also a human after all. So, I think this will be his final season. Fans shouldn’t be missing any of his matches, they should be watching every ball he’s in the field,”

Kedar Jadhav said.

There was record viewership during Dhoni’s batting: Kedar

On Wednesday, April 12, Chennai Super Kings played against Rajasthan Royals with their legendary skipper MS Dhoni leading the team in his 200th game as captain. Regardless of the location, Dhoni has a huge fan following. The venue, M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, was packed with spectators, and digital viewership soared during Dhoni’s batting in the chase. As a JioCinema IPL expert, Kedar Jadhav said that the CSK skipper played a crucial role in generating significant viewership.

During the CSK vs RR match on April 12, Kedar Jadhav mentioned that the JioCinema IPL channel also witnessed a record-breaking 2.2 crore viewers tuning in to watch MS Dhoni bat. The CSK captain’s aggressive knock of 32* off 17 balls almost won the game for his team. However, Rajasthan Royals managed to win the thrilling match by a mere three runs. Sandeep Sharma executed perfect yorkers to seal the game for RR.
