Stephen Fleming disclosed that Dhoni was nursing a knee injury. He acknowledged Dhoni’s professional fitness and praised his form with the bat. Dhoni hit some classic sixes, especially against the spinners. He scored an unbeaten 32 off 17 balls and partnered with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 25 off 15 balls, building a crucial partnership.

In the IPL 2023 match held on April 12, Chennai Super Kings almost won against Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. However, in the end, they fell short by three runs.
