Both the stars of the Women’s cricket are picked in the platinum pick. Furthermore, it is due to the experience and skill set they have. Hayley Matthews was part of  Hobart Hurricanes before joining Melbourne Renegades last season. Her performance with both bat and ball was very impressive. The hopes are high for the performance of Harley Matthews this time. She also took the responsibility of captaining the side in the absence of Sophie Molineux. She has also won the Player of the Tournament award as well.

Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian skipper joins Melbourne Renegades again after missing out on the last season due to the injury. In season seven of the Women’s Big Bash League Harmanpreet Kaur was the leading run scorer for Melbourne Renegades. The team to start their WBBL 9 campaign on October 20, against Brisbane Heat at the Junction Oval.
