MS Dhoni finished the first innings in his style by scoring 20 runs in 9 balls which included 2 sixes and a four. His strike rate was 222.22 in that inning against Delhi Capitals. This knock of thala played a vital role in beating Delhi in Chepauk. He himself told in the post match presentation that does not make him run. And he has been practicing just to go out and hit it out of the park.

MS Dhoni said that

“We can still do better as a batting unit. There were a few shots you are better off avoiding on this pitch. There were a couple where the execution was not right; we can live with that. Good thing is, Moeen (Ali) and (Ravindra Jadeja) Jaddu got to bat,” MS Dhoni told during the post match presentation.

He further added that

“As we get closer to the last phase, everyone has a few deliveries under their belt. My job is to hit a few deliveries. Don’t make me run a lot. Happy to contribute to whatever deliveries I am getting. That is how I am practising as well,” MS Dhoni added.

Chennai Super Kings aim to play Qualifier 1 which is scheduled to happen in Chennai. If it happens it might be a great advantage for the Super Kings to reach the final. They have won seven matches and with one match gone without getting the batting. They are in the second position in the points table with 15 points.
