It seems that two budding Indian cricketers, Mukesh Choudhary and Mohsin Khan, may not be able to participate in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to their injuries. Both of them are currently undergoing rehabilitation for their respective injuries.

In the previous season, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants bought Mukesh and Mohsin respectively for INR 20 lakhs at the IPL 2022 player auction. The young bowlers proved their mettle in their debut season. Mukesh picked up 16 wickets from 13 matches at an average of 26.50 and Mohsin picking 14 wickets from nine matches at an average of 14.07.

Unfortunately, Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan has announced that the team does not have any hopes for Mukesh’s comeback to the team, as his injury is severe. However, the team still has the experienced Dwayne Bravo who also picked 16 wickets from 10 matches last season.

“We are waiting on Mukesh but we do not have much hope. He was one of our bowling mainstays last year. It will be unfortunate if he misses out,”

Vishwanathan said.

Mukesh Choudhary, has played domestic cricket for almost seven years. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru due to a back injury. Although the CSK pacer has played only 13 first-class matches, he has played a few List A games for his home state Maharashtra after his impressive spell in IPL.

In contrast, Mohsin Khan was one of the star performers of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2022 season. The bowler’s impressive performances helped his team make it to the playoffs in his first-ever IPL season.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is set to start with the Chennai Super Kings playing against defending champions Gujarat Titans on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. On April 1, Lucknow Super Giants will start their IPL season with a match against Delhi Capitals in Lucknow.
