Murli Vijay: Don’t know why Prithvi Shaw is not in Indian Team

Chesteshwar Pujara - Prithvi Shaw

While players like Shubman Gill and KL Rahul have already established themselves as key players in the team, Prithvi Shaw is yet to prove himself on the biggest stage. Shaw has only played a handful of international games for India, with only five Test matches, six ODIs, and one T20I under his belt. Murali Vijay, a former Indian opener, questioned Shaw’s exclusion from the national team despite his impressive performances in domestic cricket and He couldn’t understand why Prithvi Shaw wasn’t given more opportunities to showcase his skills at the international level.

KL SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE: MURLI VIJAY

“I don’t know why Prithvi is not playing now. Should ask the team management. There are 15 superstars playing for India. If you are playing for India, you are already a superstar for me. But skill wise I really love Shubman Gill and Prithvi Shaw. They are top players. Rishabh Pant has done a great job for Indian cricket as well. I wish him a speedy recovery. Shreyas Iyer is doing well,”

Vijay said.

In addition to discussing Prithvi Shaw’s situation, Murali Vijay also talked about KL Rahul‘s recent struggle to perform consistently. The former cricketer, who is now 38 years old, expressed his opinion that Rahul should be given some space and time to figure out his game since he is well aware of what needs to be done.

“He knows what it is and what he needs to do to make a comeback. I think KL Rahul should be left alone and not be scrutinized the way they are at the moment. It happens to any cricketer. I think KL should take it easy, work on his basics, and use this time to unwind himself and rejuvenate and comeback strong,”

Murli Vijay further added.
