Pat Cummins is most likely to miss India’s ODI series due to wrist injury. The injury happened during the last match of the Ashes in England.

The Australian team are going to play three match One Day internationals ahead of World Cup against India. This series would be helpful for both the teams for the preparations for the World Cup 2023. According to reports from Australia is that their captain Pat Cummins is to miss the series. The reports further added that He felt the injury earlier in the match. However, he wanted to continue the match in England.

The Sydney Morning Herald said that the fracture of wrist is also not ruled out. The absence of the captain will create headaches for the Australian management in the selections. The skipper of the Australian team took a break in the Border Gavaskar trophy which took place in India due to the illness of his mother. Pat Cummins then came back and won the World Test Championship Final in England. He also retained the Ashes for his team.

If the regular skipper could not make it to the squad, it is highly likely that Mitchell Marsh will be leading the side. Before the tour to India, Australian team will head to South Africa to play three match T20I series and five ODIs starting on August 30. Pat Cummins will be a major miss for the Australian team as he can also contribute both with bat and ball.
