Records galore as Shubhman Gill extends his case as an all format player

Shubman Gill

Shubhman Gill is breaking records in international cricket ever since his arrival in the Indian team. The in form batter has set another record in his short span of an international career.

Gill: The record breaker

Shubhman Gill scored an unbeaten 126* becoming the batsman with the highest individual score in the history of Indian T20 cricket. He surpassed Virat Kohli’s 122* against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup last year.

Gill became the fifth Indian to score a century in all 3 formats. The other 4 are Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Suresh Raina. He also became the youngest player to achieve this feat. Gill is just 23 years and 146 days old yet still breaking records at ease.

Shubhman Gill scored a hundred without breaking a sweat. It was a classical T20 batting. He started cautiously but steadily but as he crossed the fifty-run mark, he raced to his next fifty in no time. Every shot he hit had class written on it. He never tried to hit the cricket ball, but his gifted art called ‘timing’ helped the ball soar in the stands.

Hardik Pandya highly praised the opener and said that ‘he can actually score runs without trying’.

Hardik praises Shubhman

“Something that I have observed in Shubman Gill’s career is that he is one batter, who I personally feel, that can actually score runs without trying. You can actually score runs without even trying, that’s the beauty of your game. That’s the reason why I always mention to you that don’t go out of your style.”
