Yashasvi Jaiswal played a remarkable knock of 124 runs off 62 deliveries in Rajasthan Royals’ match against Mumbai Indians. Despite the loss, Jaiswal received the Player of the Match award, as well as high praise from MI skipper Rohit Sharma.
Rohit commended Jaiswal’s performance, stating that the youngster has taken his game to the next level, and admired his power-hitting abilities. He also noted that Jaiswal has been hitting the gym regularly to build his body. He is improving his ability to generate big hits. Sharma went on to say that Jaiswal’s batting is not only good for him personally, but also for the country and his franchise.
Despite Jaiswal’s outstanding performance, Mumbai Indians managed to chase down the target of 213 runs set by Rajasthan Royals, winning the match by six wickets.
“I watched him (Jaiswal) last year, he’s taken it to the next level. I asked him ‘Where did you get the power from?’ He said he’s been going to the gym, that’s good for him, India and RR,”
Rohit said.

Australia’s Tim David praised Yashasvi Jaiswal for his outstanding knock in the recent IPL 2023 match against Rajasthan Royals. David congratulated the young Mumbai opener on his magnificent century. David acknowledged that it must have been special for Jaiswal to score in front of his home crowd. David’s comments came after Mumbai Indians secured their fourth win of the season, moving up to seventh place on the IPL Points Table.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals maintained their position at number three. It was a disappointing result for Jaiswal, despite his spectacular performance, as his team lost the match. Nonetheless, his maiden IPL ton earned him the Player of the Match award and widespread praise from cricket enthusiasts worldwide.
