Rohit Sharma to miss a part of West Indies tour

“Rohit Sharma looked a bit jaded during the IPL and the World Test Championship final in England. The selectors want him to rest for some part of the West Indies tour. He’s likely to miss the Tests or the eight-match white-ball series (three ODIs and five T20Is) to follow. The selectors will speak to Rohit and then take a decision,” the source told the TOI.

He also had a poor Indian Premier League  332 runs in 16 matches in 2023. Rohit Sharma had an average of just above 20 in the Indian Premier League 2023. He did a great a role in taking the team in to the playoffs. As a captain Rohit is always done with the less resource available in the team. The Mumbai Indian s Franchise was without the performance of Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer. Still, they did a very good job in the IPL.

The West Indies tour starts on July 12th. The tour starts with the 2 test matches and then continued with 3 One day internationals. However, the tour ends with the 5 T20 Internationals. The team for the tour is going to be selected in the fourth week of the month of June. The Indian Test team will travel to West Indies on July 3rd. It is not confirmed that Rohit Sharma will miss the matches as the decision will be taken by him.
