Scott Styris makes his statement on opener Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw - Delhi Capitals

Former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris said that Prithvi Shaw has to go back to domestic cricket and work out. The opener has not made a half-century in the last 14 innings. So, Delhi Capitals dropped Shaw after a few matches in the early stage of the IPL. However, the opening combination of Phil Salt and David Warner has clicked recently. It is so difficult for Shaw to make a comeback again into the playing 11. On the other hand, another opening youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal has performed very well. He has been striking very well at a great strike rate.

Scott Styris on Prithvi Shaw

“I know you used Prithvi Shaw’s name here. All the competition of young players around… Shaw is so far off the pace, it’s not even funny. He needs to work, he needs to go back to domestic cricket and the IPL and work out on his game. He has to get himself fit and be indispensable,” Scott Styris said on JioCinema.

Brett Lee on Yashasvi Jaiswal said that

“I’m really impressed by his (Yashasvi Jaiswal) temperament, his strike rate is absolutely brilliant. He’s got the right attitude. He’s going to play for India for many, many years,” Lee told on JioCinema.

The head coach of Delhi Capitals Ricky Ponting before the start of the IPL said that Shaw will have the best season. However, Prithvi Shaw has not been up to the mark and got dropped from the playing 11. Scott Styris is also correct on his words on Shaw
