Shane Bond backs Cameron Green after the loss against LSG

Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants clashed in the 63rd game of this Indian Premier League. Krunal Pandya is leading the Lucknow franchise after the injury of KL Rahul. The 5- time champions of the IPL won the toss and decided to bowl first. The match happened in the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow. LSG lost their top order very early than expected. However, their captain Krunal Pandya and the Aussie all-rounder put a great partnership. Shane Bond talks on Cameron Green after the match.

Shane Bond on Cameron Green said that

“I don’t think it’s a case of being up to the mark. If you look over the last few games, and we have won the games, he’s just slid down to number seven. He hasn’t batted, and the same tonight – a handful of balls. He couldn’t get the runs, but he has still been an important part of our team,” Bond said in the post-match press conference.

Shane Bond further added that

“He was at three at the top of the tournament and did a great job for us. As it’s turned out, we’ve just used other players and Surya [Surya Kumar Yadav] in particular, who has pushed up to number three, which has pushed Greenie to the backend of the innings,” Shane Bond added.

The openers of Mumbai Indians played really well but the upcoming batters were not able to capitalize on the start. All the batsmen except the Openers and Tim David struggled a lot to score runs. The credit should also be given to Mohsin Khan against Tim and Green who defended the runs in the final over.
