Tamim Iqbal set goals for his teammates before the start of the series against Ireland. Keeping in mind the one-day World Cup, the captain of Bangladesh’s one-day team has given a strong message to the players.

Keeping in mind the World Cup, Bangladesh will play two one-day series against Ireland and Afghanistan. In addition to preparing for the World Cup, Tamim wants to complete various tests in these two series. Bangladesh’s first one-day match against the Irish is on May 9. Bangladesh is not getting fast bowler Taskin Ahmed due to injury in this series. Important batsman Mahmudullah has been rested. According to Bangladesh team sources, Tamim warned his teammates that there is healthy competition in the team for a place in the first eleven. If you don’t perform at your best, chances are difficult to get.

Tamim Iqbal said almost the same thing while facing the journalists. The Bangladesh captain said,

“There is no specific place in the team that I can say for sure, that place has been filled. We will now play a series. There is another series later. It is in a different environment. I will try to choose the best team in these two series. Those who have had the opportunity so far have done well. As an example, I can talk about Touhid Hridoy. It would be rash to comment on him yet. He has played just aseries yet. He performed very well there.”

We are here to play good cricket and win the match: Tamim Iqbal

Despite winning at home, Tamim Iqbal is reluctant to put himself ahead against the Irish in England. He said,

“I don’t want to say the word favorite. We are here to play good cricket and win the match. One can say whatever he wants. But we are not taking Ireland lightly. Their team is strong enough. Apart from that, they are very familiar with the environment here. Hopefully we can play well and throw the challenge.”

Bangladesh is starting the preparation for the One Day World Cup from the series against Ireland. Coach Chandika Hathurusingha is keeping an eye on several cricketers. Tamim and his players are desperate to do well in the World Cup on Indian soil.
