Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians needed 17 runs to win in the final over to register their fourth victory of IPL 2023. With three consecutive sixes in the first three deliveries of the over, Tim David single-handedly changed the game’s complexion and helped MI secure a sensational victory at Wankhede Stadium.

After the match, the 27-year-old mentioned that he had always wanted to finish off a game like that, and he is delighted to have finally done it. He credited MI batting coach Kieron Pollard for playing a massive part in his training. Despite a challenging season, David said he is happy to have got the job done against Rajasthan. Hitting big maximums is never easy, and a batsman needs momentum to succeed, he added.

Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma was thrilled in the dugout after the game, while David and Tilak Varma were jumping in joy. The victory helped MI move to the seventh position on the IPL Points Table, while Rajasthan remained at number three.

Tim David said:

“I have been hungry to have a finish like that, so it feels amazing. The team has been excited and the boys have been putting in big performances and I have been waiting for my chance. Pleased that I took it.”

Pollard helped me a lot: Tim

“Hitting sixes doesn’t come easily, and it doesn’t feel like it has come easy this year. When you’re getting that momentum, you just have to run with it. I have been putting in some hard work in the training over the last two weeks. I’m grateful for the support from the support staff. Obviously, Polly (Kieron Pollard) is a big part of it. I’m just trying to relax and enjoy the game,”
