Virat Kohli has been an integral part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team since the Indian Premier League’s inception in 2008. He has played 234 matches in the tournament, scoring 7044 runs. Kohli has helped RCB to qualify for the final of the competition on three different occasions but has never been able to lead his team to the championship. Despite this, Kohli has remained committed to RCB and has never considered playing for another team.

Kohli has spoken about his 15-year association with RCB, stating that the relationship is built on trust from both sides. The cricketer hails from Delhi and considers himself fortunate to have represented RCB since its inception. He has a strong connection with the fans and enjoys their unwavering support. Kohli’s loyalty to RCB reflects his commitment to building and maintaining a successful team.

“I feel really fortunate to have played for one franchise from day one. It’s been a constant relationship based on trust from both ends that we are working for the same thing and the value that I have seen fans connecting with me very organically is because of the fact that we play the game for the right reasons,”

Virat said.

Honoured to be here at RCB for so long: Virat Kohli

“I am really honoured and fortunate to be here for so long, in a place where I absolutely love coming to every year and start the IPL journey all over again. So, it’s always very exciting,”

Kohli added.

In the ongoing season, Kohli has scored 420 runs in 11 matches, placing him fifth in the IPL Orange Cap race. However, with RCB currently out of the top four, Kohli and his teammates will have to improve their performance in the remaining three matches to secure a spot in the playoffs. Their upcoming matches include Rajasthan Royals on May 15, Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 18, and their final league game against Gujarat Titans on May 21.
