Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, and Anushka Sharma, a well-known Bollywood actress, are a popular celebrity couple with a massive social media following. The couple tied the knot in 2017 and welcomed a baby girl in 2021.
During a relaxed conversation with AB de Villiers on ‘the 360 show,’ Kohli opened up about his first encounter with Sharma. The Indian cricket star admitted that he was nervous and shaking when he met the actress for an ad shoot.

“I remeber this was 2013, I was just named captain for the Zimababwe tour. My manager came to me and told me that I was going to shoot with Anushka Sharma. As soon as I heard this, I was so nervous. Like how the hell am I gonna do this. I was really nervous,”
Kohli said.
Virat Kohli admitted feeling anxious when he learned that he would be meeting Anushka Sharma, who was already a well-known actress at the time. He was unsure of how to interact with her. Kohli even attempted to break the ice with an unfunny joke about her high heels during the ad shoot. However, after spending time together on a few occasions, they eventually hit it off and their relationship grew stronger over time.
Kohli further added:
“Out of nervousness, I didn’t realise how tall she was. So the first thing I told her when I saw her heels was, ‘Didn’t you get anything higher to wear?’ and she was like ‘Excuse me?’ It was so bad, I was so nervous. But then I figured out that she was a normal person and when we got talking I realized our background was so similar. From there on we became friends and then gradually we started dating, it didn’t happen instantly.”
